Raymond E. Sallade

Raymond E. Sallade, 86, of Athens, PA passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 4, 2024.

He was born on June 17, 1937, in Coudersport, PA, the son of the late Arthur H. and Mildred (Mosch) Sallade.

Raymond was a Veteran of the US Army spending most of his military years in Okinawa and the surrounding areas. He was employed with Ingersoll Rand in Athens as a Tool Designer and CAD Engineer, retiring after 33 years of faithful service.

He enjoyed camping with his wife, Idabelle, and their dogs in their motorhome. Raymond also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sailing. He loved restoring old cars, which he self-taught himself to do. He was a problem solver with a keen sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother Robert Sallade, brothers-in-law Jim Remick and Robert Brewer, and mother-in-law Idabelle Atkinson.

Raymond is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years Idabelle, daughters Linda (Steve Swetland) Ardrey, Lori (Lenny) Sallade-Conrad, and Lisa (Randy) Royer, grandchildren Sierra Ardrey, Asia Ardrey, Mariah (Cori) Wilcox, Taylor (Justin Vennel) Conrad, Raymond Murray, Seth Murray, Zach Royer, and Alyssa (Stuart) Rogers, great grandchildren Amoura, Emrys, Noelle, Londyn, and Alayna. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Jean Sallade, Dolores Brewer, and Bea Remick, brother-in-law Neal (Charles Winner) Hamilton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11am at Bradford County Memorial Park, 20452 Route 6, Towanda, PA with Rev. Bill Hubert officiating.

Burial will follow in Bradford County Memorial Park with Military Honors accorded.
